MIPAPS Data

This page provides access to the data from the MIPAPS and the ground-based Hα surveys, IPHAS (The INT Photometric Hα Survey of the Northern Galactic Plane) and VPHAS+ (The VST Photometric Hα Survey of the Southern Galactic Plane), as utilized by Kim et al. (2025). For detailed information on the data preparation and processing, please refer to the paper.

Galactic Plane Mosaics

The table below lists the Galactic plane mosaic images sorted by Galactic longitude, along with links to the corresponding data files in FITS format. The images are projected in the plate carrée (CAR) projection using Galactic coordinates, with a pixel scale of 52 arcseconds for MIPAPS and approximately 5 arcseconds for IPHAS and VPHAS+. The quicklook images are reproduced from Kim et al. (2025).

Data Description

The data files (241 fields, 3 files for each field) distributed through the above form are in the FITS format. Size of each data file is about 490 KB. Each FITS file contains one primary HDU (header and data unit) of the calibrated image of PAAL (*_PAAL.fits), PAAC (*_PAAC.fits), or continuum-subtracted Paα image (*_PAAL-PAAC.fits). When using the data downloaded through the above form, please refer to the Guideline. A paper describing details of the observations and data processing will be submitted to the Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series in early 2025.
